Long Term Disability The District provides Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage to eligible employees. The plan begins to pay benefits after you have been disabled for 60 days, or after the period for which you choose to receive sick pay, whichever is longer. The plan pays 66 2/3% of your monthly earnings at the time of your disability, up to a maximum benefit of $8,000 per month. Benefits are coordinated with other disability income, including Social Security, PERS and workers’ compensation. LTD benefits are payable to age 65 as long as you are considered disabled.
Who is eligible? Classified employees working 20 hours or more per week.
Your monthly cost: The District pays the full cost of this coverage for eligible employees.
Enrolling. No enrollment needed. You are automatically enrolled in this plan. ALL FORMS ARE DUE IN THE BENEFITS OFFICE BY THE 7TH OF THE MONTH BEFORE YOUR BENEFITS START. (Example: Benefits start 10/1/07 - applications and forms are due 9/7/07.)
