Disaster Preparedness In Your Workplace
Disasters usually strike without warning. Is your organization prepared for the difficult aftermath of a disaster? Are disaster policies, emergency notification systems, first aid and safety practices all in place? Have employees been advised/trained on how on-site problems and crises are to be handled? As we know, the Pacific Northwest can experience natural disasters, and any organization can have major emergencies, regardless of weather or earthquakes. This half-day session will identify many of the actions employers can take to prepare themselves and employees in the event a catastrophe occurs. The session will focus on:
- What supplies should be maintained for your office or organization;
- How to design a disaster response plan and what tasks should be assigned and to whom;
- What do employees and managers need to know about preparedness;
- What kind of practice for disaster really works;
- How can employers help themselves and employees in the first few critical days; and
- How to identify "safety spots" within your organization.
