Developing Effective Training Programs
As a consulting firm that spends about 25% of its time assisting companies with training projects, we want to share some ideas with attendees on how to increase their training effectiveness. Too often, organizations miss important parts of the training development process because they do not know how to accurately forecast needs or interpret available information. This workshop will cover:
- What the signs or symptoms are that a major training effort is needed;
- How to design a questionnaire specifically to obtain training needs information;
- How to identify whether group or individual training will be more effective;
- How to use Employee Performance Appraisal information to support development of training programs; and
- When "booster shots" (one time training sessions) will and will not work.
The participants' packets will include samples of training surveys, performance appraisal questions
designed to assist with training needs identification, and checklists to aid in training program needs analysis.
